The 2004 EnduranceKarting.com Team Championship
will be awarded to the competing team scoring the most points in four
starts in Endurance Karting races during the 2004 season.
-
Team: A team is defined as having the same
manager/entrant and team name in competition.
-
Highest Finishes Count: Teams competing in more than
four events will be allowed to utilize their highest point finishes
toward the team total.
-
Earning Points: Points will be awarded to each team
according to team name based on their finishing order in their
designated class in each event.
-
Classes: Teams will compete simultaneously in one of
four racing classes. Normal classification is as follows:
-
GTS (Super Rookie) - This is the first racing
experience ever for each member of the team. Points achieved
under this one time only class will be applied toward GT1 standing,
which the team would race under beginning their second race.
-
GT1 (Rookie) - Driving team members possess less
than one year's racing experience. One exception allowed per
a 3+ man team.
-
GTBB (Big Boy) - Driving team's total weight must average 190
lbs per driver or more.
-
GT40 (40+ Years Old) - Driving team's average age must be 40 or older.
-
GTPro (Pro) - Experienced driving teams not classifiable
elsewhere.
-
Declaring Class. Teams will be required to declare their
competition class no later than the beginning of the Qualifying session
or Endurance Karting officials will determine the classification.
Endurance Karting reserves the right to reassign teams that demonstrate
inappropriate classification in the course of the event. No
reclassification will be conducted after the close of the racing event.
-
Transferring Points. Points cannot be transferred from
class to class.
-
Qualifying Bonuses. A Qualifying Bonus of 5 points will
be awarded for the fastest qualifier in their competition class. Awards
will drop by one point for each position further back within the
selected class the team qualifies. Each position from fifth place to the
final qualifying team will be awarded 1 Qualifying Point.
-
Race Length And Point Award: In races of 4-hour length
or less, each class-winning team will be awarded 28 points and the point
award will drop by one point for each position further back within the
selected class that the team finishes. For example, the 4th place
finishing team in GTP will receive 25 points even though they may have
finished 20th overall.
-
In 6-hour races, the point award will be multiplied by a
factor of 1.5. I.E: The same 4th-place finishing team will receive 38.5
points.
-
In 8-hour races, the point award will be multiplied by a
factor of 2. I.E: The same 4th-place finishing team will receive 50
points.
-
Season. The winning team will be that which tallies the
most points in their class by the final race of the 2004 season.
-
Trophies. Each winning team will be awarded up to eight
trophies commemorating their championship.
-
Adjustment. Endurance Karting reserves the right to
rescind points awarded in error or by subterfuge and/or assess point
penalties based on those, or other actions and recalculate any point
totals and point standings based on that process at any time.
-
The Gavel. The decision of Endurance Karting officials
is final.
