You asked and we responded... with a day on the track just for women.  Come and spend the day learning not only the technicalities of racing, but the thrill of racing.  Lead Instructor Johan Schwartz, along with long time Endurance Karting participants Peg Duke and Cherryl Hatfield will be your leaders for the day.  Sign up as an individual, bring a friend, bring your mother or your daughter!  Come experience what kart racing is all about in a non-pressured learning environment! Peg Duke:  Instructor
Peg Duke, along with husband Lou, has been racing with Endurance Karting for 3 seasons.  Peg has participated in events at Lime Rock, CT, Miami, FL, Jacksonville, FL and Las Vegas, NV.  The thrill of accomplishment keeps Peg racing.  Peg and Lou are always working on their race line.  Peg encourages women to attend Women's Day School whether or not the plan is to race in the future.  It is a great day to find out about yourself, try something new, and build a sense of self-accomplishment.  Whether on the race track or highway, what you will learn in this school will apply to all your future driving.

This year I will return to participate in Endurance Karting’s Women’s Day Out.  I am excited that this program will allow women to experience the thrill of racing in a non pressured environment.  I invite women who want to feel the freedom and exhilaration of karting to join me at Endurance Karting’s Women’s Day Out, Wednesday, July 21 at Lime Rock Park, CT.  Here is my story and introduction to racing.

When I received an Endurance Karting postcard in the mail, just for kicks I stuck it in my husband's briefcase never expecting my husband would soon be planning a family weekend trip to Lime Rock, Connecticut to participate in a one day race school followed by a 6-hour race the following day.  Living in Maryland, I thought it was a long haul just for go-karting.  But why not, it would be something new to experience and a fun and exciting family adventure.  So we along with our two daughters (8 & 10), my husband's dad, our good friend Mike and his father, we decided to adventure to Lime Rock Race Track.  With a bit of uncertainty, we quickly adjusted after a day of being schooled, trained, and prepared for our first Endurance Karting race. My heart pounded with excitement as the race began and before we knew it we were hooked on this new founded sport. From having to plan our pit stop strategies, finding the racing line with the correct apexes, and driver changes there was alot more to this race then just going faster than the rest.  We ended up finishing 5th in our division with great anticipation of returning.

Since then our family along with our friend Mike have traveled to Connecticut twice, Lowe's Motorspeedway in Charlotte, NC and Homestead, FL. My 10 year old daughter and husband participated in the children's race school and she is looking forward to returning back this summer.  My 8 year old daughter is anticipating her moment at LimeRock.  In our last race of the season, we unexpectedly finished 1st overall.  Being out numbered by males at a ratio of 60 to 2 females, this was a rewarding victory. Who says women can't drive?
