Here's what happened:
An EXCITING weekend of Racing in Charlotte!
This past weekend’s event was held at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC. It was a spectacular week both for the racing and the weather. Weekend racers brought out many indoor center teams as well as car club members from Andretti, Victory Lane, BMW, and NASA.

Saturday’s 6 hour race had 17 teams.
Team size ranged from a 2 man team
(veterans Kartenflugen)to 4 man teams. We welcomed new racers Preston Pirates and Happy Go Lucky. Team AAA Racing, a father, son and friend team forGreensboro, NC, took their first overall win with Endurance Karting. Fastest lap went to Chuck Lopez earning him his second coveted yellow hat of the season.

Sunday’s 1.5 hour race had 22 teams participating. It was the closest race in Endurance Karting history. The top 8 overall finished on the same lap, with the next 5 only 1 lap behind. In the final 5 minutes it was Saturday’s winner, AAA racing chasing down father son team Ace Motorsports. AAA managed to overtake the kart separating the two teams in the second to last lap… AAA, hopping in the seat, continued to gain, but in the end, Ace Motorsports won by only 0.393 seconds. It was a fantastic race to the end.

Thank you to the NASCAR Technical Institute students who helped out both Saturday and Sunday. |
